So what’s the deal with the Kryptonics brand?
Over the last few months some people have expressed confusion about Kryptonics complete skateboards and the new Kryptonics Star*Trac Wheels. They are two completely different worlds run, by two completely different companies. Let’s explain.
The Star Trac wheels along with the Cruise and Route standard wheels are only sold in skate shops.
"The Kryptonics brand is a subsidiary of Bravo Sports. Bravo owns multiple brands and manufactures a variety of action sport and toy items. At mass retail chains the Kryptonics brand appears exclusively on complete skateboards at entry level price points."
Kryptonics approached Dusters California, a division of Dwindle Distribution, and a manufacturer of cruisers and longboards, to see if they were interested in licensing the Kryptonics Star*Trac wheel brand for longboards and cruisers, to be sold individually. To make a long story short this is what has happened, Dwindle licensed the Kryptonics Star*Trac name to make high quality wheels to sell to skateboard shops around the world.
Dwindle does not produce, market or sell Kryptonics complete skateboards.
The new Kryptonics Star Trac wheels were the only wheels that made the Silverfishlongboarding.com Top Ten Longboarding Products From 2013. If you visit the Kryptonics Star*Trac Wheels Facebook page you will see the rich history of these wheels. You will also see post after post expressing the raw passion that skateboarders feel for this truly iconic brand. Our goal is to share that history and passion, and to make wheels that continue the lineage of performance that was established in 1976.
